Hotels El Cangrejo walking distance from Spanish Panama
Hotels and Apart-Hotels and accommodation options:
There are now about 40 hotel options within a 10 minute walk of Spanish Panama language school on Via Argentina. Spanish Panama school is located in Panama City’s best neighborhood of El Cangrejo. It is below the Albert Eintein Head statue (Cabeza Einstein).
Most economical options:
Ramada Hotel on Via Argentina is 2 doors away from Spanish Panama language school www.spanishpanama.com
For accommodation options we have efficiency suites though availability is very limited. Cost is $775.00 for 4 weeks and includes A/C , WIFI and electricity. For 2 weeks it is $500.00.
We also have private rooms in homestays (with breakfast) available. This is not for everyone but something to consider for Spanish immersion. Some are close by and others are about a 35 minute walk or 15 minutes by bus.
Of course we have a great partner hostel for our budget travelers. Rooms are shared and it’s more economical for Spanish Panama Spanish students. There’s an A/C dorm room and this includes breakfast. This is less than a 10-15 minute walk from SpanishPanama down Via Argentina , and just on the other side of the Via Argentina subway station. This is Zebulo and the hostess is a very nice woman from France, Tihfany (831-1805).
More good accommodation options:
For accommodations we are also happy to say that we are now surrounded by 3 great partner hotels, and each hotel has its own unique points and each hotel is only a 15 second walk away!: Grand International Hotel, Saba Hotel, and Ramada Inn. The Ramada Inn is an international chain and is currently offering our Spanish students a great price. The weekly rate at the Grand International is about $375.00 (per person and $445.00 for 2) and this hotel is just across the road from SpanishPanama. The owner is our friend, Luigi (Victor), and speaks perfect English. It’s a bit more economical than Saba Hotel. The web is http://www.grandinterhotel.com/ . It’s a good idea to ask for Luigi (Victor), if you call or email. The telephone is (#507) 264-9057 or (507) 6800-3604 and the email is grandinterhotel@gmail.com Past students like its cosmopolitan atmosphere and the fact that it has a pool and downstairs are restaurants such as Casa de la Pizza (House of Piza) the U.S.’s Dominos Pizza, Subway Restaurant. Beside this hotel and just across the road from SpanishPanama is Pizza de Leña, the U.S. Subway chain , and perhaps the best Pub in Panama City, the Colombian chain, “Rana Dorada”. Saba Hotel is just 5 doors away from SpanishPanama, has an outside balcony cafe restaurant for the breakfast that is included in the rate, Also, our friendly neighborhood park is just across the road from the Saba. The Ramada Inn is giving our enrolled students a great price and this is only 2 doors away, right beside the best fruit and veggie store in the neighborhood, Fruteria Mimi. We are truly lucky to have the best location for a Spanish school and right in the heart of the best neighborhood in the country!
The Saba has been offering our students a rate of around $60.00 a night. The phone number is (#507) 201-6100. The web site is http://www.thesabahotel.com/boutique-hotel-in-panama-es.html. Ask for Veronica if you email or call. The Saba is interesting as no drinking is allowed for religious reasons so it tends to be a quieter atmosphere. Past students have commented on its great breakfast and good service. Right across from the friendly neighborhood park and to date we have alway received good comments from former Spanish students who stayed there.
All of the next hotels are still within a pleasant 10 minute walk of SpanishPanama Spanish school :
There’s a hotel in the second building behind Trapiche restaurant (the most famous in Panama for Panamanian food). This is also around the corner from the park on Via Argentina. It’s part of the Best Western chain and it’s called Panama Zen Hotel. At the top is “ROOFTOP” and is always listed as one of the top Rooftop bars in Panama. The general manager is Lina Tamayo Quijano. Her cellular number is 507 6541-9320. The number of the hotel is (#507) 301-3333. You may email them at gerencia@bwpanamazenhotel.com and reservas@bwpanamazenhotel.com. The street name and intersection is actually Calle Gaspar Hernandez (Better known as Calle “G”!) y Via Argentina.
The Best Western Zen Hotel is only a 3 or 4 minute walk from SpanishPanama and right behind the best Panamanian food restaurant, Trapiche’s on Via Argentina!
One recent client just paid $60/night INCLUDING the 10% tax (obligatory for all hotels) for Coral Suites on Calle D. This included complimentary breakfast and free internet, small kitchen, gym, pool, and laundry facility. This has perhaps the most economical aparthotel in the area. You may email Isabel at coralsuites@coralsuites.net or call (#507) 269-2727. You may get a better monthly/weekly rate.
One student just got an economical room at Hotel Marbella on Calle D an extremely low price. And Spanish Panama can help you with this.
Some other good options are Novatel Hotel (beside the ex-world champion boxer, Roberto Duran’s house-famous bout Sugar Ray Leonard and he has a kind of museum to boxing being built there right now), and Hotel Principe (below is a great sushi restaurant and near the 24 hour supermarket of El Rey (Via Espana by the walkway overpass). Principe Hotel is also right in front of Power Club, Panama’s best gym). We will also soon do a blog on the Principe Hotel as it is a great option for people with disabilities coming to Panama in terms of wheelchair accessibility. SpanishPanama teachers will accommodate and will give Spanish classes to clients with disabilities who are staying here at no extra costs (transportation, etc).
A good idea for a short term rental is Torres de Alba apart-hotel. There are a lot of hotel vacancies now in Panama and you may be able to negotiate a good monthly deal. The pool area is great! The longer you commit the better the deal you may get. This is a 10-12 minute walk from SpanishPanama!
Another option is this one as a lot of our students have good comments here as well, and you may be able to get the most economical deal here. It’s about a 10 minute walk to SpanishPanama: The email is info@panamacenterapartments.com The web link is http://panamacenterapartments.com/en/apartments/mini-studio-apartment/ This is about a 10-12 minute pleasant walk from SpanishPanama (You can get to our school by taking a right or a left as you leave the building. The receptionists are Isela Rodríguez or Maria del Carmen Vasquez. The phone numbers are (#507) 394-4000 / (+507) 6579-1111 or 65654383, Calle 5ta A Norte, Edificio Bariloche, El Cangrejo.
Sortis Hotel is Panama’s brand new luxury hotel, contains some of Panama’s finest restaurants and entertainment and is next to Panama’s most exclusive Mall, SOHO. This one is across from the famous architectural feat of Revolution Towers (Made the global top ten highrise lists when it was built!), and just a 10 to 15 minute walk from SpanishPanama. It has great walking access to Multiplaza and some amazing coffee, sandwich and chocolate shops such as Atanasious, DobleCuchara, Sequella, and even Starbucks), . (Multiplaza is a 25 minute walk from SpanishPanama but we do recommend taking the $2.50-$3.00 taxi ride).
Another student recently got a great deal for the Toscana Hotel (near Coral Suites) using an online booking agent called bookings.com. The Toscana gets great reviews from Spanish Panama students coming from abroad and you may try calling there. Mentioning that you are a student at SpanishPanama can also help a lot, especially with our recommended hotels.
Anyway, let us know how your search goes so we can help future students.
*Getting good deals at hotels sometimes requires patience and research. Prices seem to depend on a lot of variables.
