On Friday, November 9, Spanish Panama held another Spanish teachers’ workshop. Today’s topic was on the Spanish Panama’s “Survival Spanish” course.
Our multi-talented teacher, “Profesora Danae,” also speaks 5 languages fluently, and has taught Spanish, English, and Greek in numerous countries. In these photos our Spanish teachers are sharing ideas and techniques for teaching Spanish using local, authentic materials found in Panama. In the company of teaching Spanish using restaurant menus and mock restaurant scenes, cultural talks, and magazines, one of Spanish Panama’s favorite materials is “The Visitor” (“El Visitante”).
“The Visitor” is the only printed newspaper in Panama for both speakers of Spanish and English. It is published weekly and teachers love to use it as a constant source of current information relevant to expats. It is perfect as Spanish learning material and as part of Spanish Panama’s “orientation to Panama” for newcomers thinking of living, buying, doing business, or just touring here.
“The Visitor”, written in both Spanish and English, makes useful content for a Spanish school, as a great source for vocabulary building, teaching sentence structures, reading, writing, and conversation practice.
