It was a Saturday afternoon of food, culture and entertainment within walking distance of our school.
Tents with food and souvenirs, each from a different nation, each tempting. So difficult to choose what to get. All the food looked yummy.
There were dancers in costume, music and a crowd of locals and visitors of all ages. The photos are only a small sampling of what was available.
An opportunity to practice language skills and taste different foods. Also an opportunity to hear different languages spoken. Maybe you will be one of the foreign language speakers, from the viewpoint of the natives. Some will practice their English on you even as you try to your Spanish on them.
Parque Andres Bello is very close to the Spanish Panama school on Via Argentina. It is a well kept park where the local children play, dogs walk their owners, and people visit with each other. It is a place to eat your lunch sitting on one of the benches. It is fun to watch the kids playing sports. Such energy.
Events are frequently held here. During the Christmas holidays this park is decorated with Santa figurines, a creche and, amazingly, snowmen, (plastic, of course, as we do not get snow here). Trees on the center median of via Argentina are drip with multicolored lights. Very beautiful.
Spanish Panama Language school is conveniently located. What you encounter will depend on when you visit. Panama City is a cosmopolitan happening place. Here, today Sabores Solidarios, at other times other events, but mostly it is a park for everyone to enjoy.
